[NBA RUMOR] Golden State Warriors Will Try To Sign Channing Frye

Once the transfer market is closed, the time has come to strengthen with free agents. Joe Johnson has arrived to Houston Rockets, Marco Belinelli to Philadelphia 76ers, and Channing Frye, although still a player of Los Angeles Lakers, could do the same with Golden State Warriors in the horizon, indicates Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

According to Joey Ramirez of NBA.com, the veteran 34-year-old power forward will not have minutes in the Luke Walton rotation, so the management of the Californians could exercise the buyout leaving him free to sign with any playoff set.

Assuming that hypothesis for granted, the aforementioned ESPN journalist comments that one of the groups that could be interested in Frye, a former Cleveland Cavaliers player, would be playing for the Golden State Warriors.

Does He Fit In The Squad?

Golden State, the current champions of the NBA, already have up to three pivots, Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee and Jordan Bell, who add up to a total of 37.3 minutes per game. That is in the position of 'five', but is that in the other square of the frontcourt have Draymond Green and David West, and that without counting the option of Kevin Durant as a 'four'. Is there room for Frye?
